Worked example: A-share fees and price limits

Four figures computed from the platform's default rates, and why price-limit rounding shifts a cent.

Worked examplesLast reviewed: 2026-09-09

The figures below use the platform's built-in default rates (commission 0.012% both sides with a CNY 5 minimum; stamp duty 0.05% on sells; transfer fee 0.001% both sides; regulatory fees 0). Rates can be overridden by deployment configuration; the order confirmation step is authoritative. The A-share channel is currently unavailable.

Example 1: buy CNY 100,000

Notional 100,000.00 CNY
Commission 100,000 × 0.00012 = 12.00 CNY (above the CNY 5 minimum)
Stamp duty 0.00 CNY (not levied on buys)
Transfer fee 100,000 × 0.00001 = 1.00 CNY
────────────────────────────────────────────
Total 13.00 CNY

Example 2: sell CNY 100,000

Notional 100,000.00 CNY
Commission 100,000 × 0.00012 = 12.00 CNY
Stamp duty 100,000 × 0.0005 = 50.00 CNY (sell side only)
Transfer fee 100,000 × 0.00001 = 1.00 CNY
────────────────────────────────────────────
Total 63.00 CNY
The entire CNY 50.00 difference versus the buy side is stamp duty.

Example 3: buying CNY 10,000 hits the CNY 5 minimum

Notional 10,000.00 CNY
Commission 10,000 × 0.00012 = 1.20 CNY → below the minimum
Charged 5.00 CNY (per-order minimum)
Transfer fee 10,000 × 0.00001 = 0.10 CNY
────────────────────────────────────────────
Total 5.10 CNY

Where the minimum stops binding

NotionalCommission at rateCommission chargedNotes
CNY 10,000.00CNY 1.20CNY 5.00Far below the minimum, so CNY 5 applies
CNY 41,666.67CNY 5.00CNY 5.00The point where the rate exactly equals the minimum
CNY 41,708.33CNY 5.00CNY 5.00Still CNY 5.00 after rounding to the cent, so the minimum still binds
CNY 41,708.34CNY 5.01CNY 5.01The first notional that actually pays more than CNY 5.00
The two numbers differ: CNY 41,666.67 is where the rate crosses CNY 5, but CNY 41,708.34 is the first order that really pays more once fees are rounded to the cent.

On small orders the commission minimum dominates the real cost: the CNY 5.10 in example 3 is 0.051% of notional — four times example 1 (0.013%). When one order fills in several parts, the CNY 5 minimum is applied once per order, not once per partial fill.

Example 4: why the limit price is 11.06 and not 11.05

Previous closePrice limitLower limitUpper limit
CNY 10.05±10% (Main Board)CNY 9.05CNY 11.06
CNY 10.05±20% (ChiNext / STAR)CNY 8.04CNY 12.06
CNY 10.05±30% (Beijing)CNY 7.04CNY 13.07
CNY 10.05±5% (Main Board ST)CNY 9.55CNY 10.55

10.05 × 1.1 = CNY 11.055. The exchange rule is to round half-up to the tick size (CNY 0.01), so the upper limit is CNY 11.06; truncating would give 11.05 and an order at 11.06 would be rejected. That one cent decides whether a limit-up order gets in.
